Propose a Focused Research Track at SS-MOM 2027
The International Conference on Smart & Sustainable Manufacturing, Operations & Materials (SS-MOM 2027) invites proposals for focused, emerging, interdisciplinary, and high-impact Special Tracks that complement the three General Tracks.
01 Theme and Scope
A Special Track should address a clearly defined, emerging, relevant, and significant research theme within the scope of SS-MOM 2027. It should be sufficiently focused to be distinct, while broad enough to attract quality contributions.
Proposals may address technological, methodological, application-oriented, industrial, environmental, societal, or interdisciplinary challenges. The conference does not prescribe specific Special Track topics.
Each proposal should explain:
- The research focus and emerging need
- Relevant General Track(s)
- Novelty and significance
- Distinction from the General Tracks
- The justification for a dedicated Track
The scope should normally include 8–10 related topics covering theoretical, computational, experimental, industrial, or application-oriented research.
02 Track Chair Eligibility
Proposals may be submitted by active and enthusiastic academicians, researchers and scientists or other experts with relevant expertise. Normally, one Track Chair and one Co-Chair (optional) may be proposed. International and multi-institutional representation is encouraged.
Track Chairs should have demonstrated expertise through relevant publications, projects, professional activities, or industrial experience.
03 Responsibilities of Track Chairs
Approved Track Chairs are expected to:
- Aim to secure at least 8–10 registered papers for the Track
- Promote the official Call for Papers through academic, institutional, professional, and appropriate social-media networks
- Encourage quality submissions and identify suitable reviewers
- Support and coordinate the peer-review process, including reviewer follow-up where required
- Coordinate with the Conference Committee on submissions, reviews, revisions, registrations, and programme planning
- Support technical sessions, moderation, discussions, and participant engagement
- Maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and comply with conference ethics and review policies
Please note: Track Chairs cannot guarantee acceptance/publication and will not independently decide acceptance unless formally authorized by the Conference Committee.
04 Recognition and Mutual Benefits
Track Chairs may receive:
- Official recognition as Special Track Chair on the website, programme, certificate, and relevant promotional materials, as applicable
- Opportunity to serve as Session Chair/Moderator, subject to mutual understanding, availability, and programme requirements
- Academic networking, collaboration, and professional visibility
- Consideration for future advisory, organizing, technical, invited-session, or related roles
- Opportunities for relevant special issues or publication initiatives, subject to publisher/journal policies
What the Conference Committee provides
The conference platform, submission/review infrastructure, administrative and technical coordination, official recognition, and conference-level promotional support.
What Track Chairs contribute
Academic outreach, paper promotion, reviewer coordination, and technical/session support.
05 Expected Participation
Each Special Track should aim for a minimum of 8 registered quality papers. This is an expected participation objective.
If a Track receives insufficient submissions, the Conference Committee may merge it with a related Track or place suitable papers under an appropriate General Track, depending on the overall programme.
06 Proposal Requirements
Each proposal should contain:
- Proposed Title
- Motivation & Overview Keep it brief
- Scope & 8–10 Key Sub-Topics
- Relationship with General Track(s)
- Expected Participation
- Track Chair Details Name, designation, affiliation with city and pin code, country, email, expertise, and h-index
07 Evaluation, Review and Ethics
Proposals will be evaluated on relevance, distinctiveness, novelty, scientific significance, interdisciplinarity, community interest, Chair expertise, international reach, and feasibility.
Approved papers will follow the conference’s established submission, peer-review, quality-assurance, and publication procedures. Special Track submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
All participants must comply with standards concerning originality, plagiarism, duplicate publication, authorship, research integrity, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, intellectual property, and publication ethics.
08 Final Approval
The Conference Organizing/Scientific Committee reserves the right to approve, request revision, modify, merge, redirect to a General Track, or decline any proposal.
Final decisions will consider the proposal’s quality, relevance, distinctiveness, feasibility, expected participation, and contribution to SS-MOM 2027. The Committee may also modify the final programme based on the number and quality of submissions received.
Build a Research Community Around Your Theme
SS-MOM 2027 welcomes qualified researchers, academicians, scientists, and industry experts to propose focused themes that can foster meaningful research interaction, collaboration, and development of focused research communities in smart and sustainable manufacturing, operations, and materials.
